The Italian drew attention to the fact the Blues change their manager frequently, and noted that while he plans to stay there and make sure he sees out his current contract, which runs to 2019, things may change, and the only big concern he has is to ensure it doesn’t impact on the players, who he wants to be focused on the game.
He spoke with Mediaset Premium and said: “In 14 years, Chelsea have changed coach 10 times, so they do have a tendency to chop and change here.
“The media also plays on this habit the moment there are negative results. They were already writing headlines about my dismissal after the opening game against Burnley.
“It’s no problem for me, in fact I really like pressure. I just hope it doesn’t affect the players.
“I said very clearly, I have a contract to 2019. I intend to respect it. After that, anything can happen in football. I am happy at Chelsea, but both parties need to be happy.
“In our line of work, we always have a bag packed. My intention is to remain here, but if something were to change, there would be several different scenarios opening up.”
Barcelona
The draw against Barcelona was certainly a good result for Chelsea, and while the La Liga side did get an away goal – and Lionel Messi finally scored against them, they do have more than a chance going into the second leg at the Camp Nou.
Many people have questioned Conte tactically in recent weeks, but in terms of the Barcelona game and playing Eden Hazard as a false nine, he got it spot on, and Willian enjoyed one of his best games in a Chelsea shirt as well.
One thing is for sure – the Chelsea fans are fully behind Conte, and want to make sure he stays.
