Musonda had laid bare his desire to leave Chelsea in quest for regular football. He drew attraction from a staggering 24 Clubs before he opted to join the Parkhead side. The Brendan Rogers led side have paid an undisclosed loan fee and they will pay a major chunk of his wages, according to reports.
Musonda signed a five-year contract with Chelsea last month, and on completing the 18-month loan deal, he said: “It’s simple for me – Celtic is a massive club.
“It’s a club with many fans, an unbelievable passion, and the culture is more than a club. Those were the most important things, and I wanted to go somewhere where I would enjoy my football, and I know the manager as well. I am very happy to be here.
“It’s a massive club and I am really looking forward to it. I was quite close to coming last summer but it didn’t happen. I spoke again with the manager a couple of weeks ago and I said I had a feeling that this is where I want to come and play my football. I am very lucky to be here and I am very happy to be here.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea have had a breakthrough in their pursuit of Emerson Palmieri. Reports emerged that Roma have accepted Chelsea’s £17.5 million bid for the left wing back and he is due to have a medical in London today.
We understand that Palmieri agreed a four-and-half year deal with Chelsea and he will come in as an alternative to Alex Sandro, whose pursuit hit snag a long time ago.
Emerson will provide an option and a competition for Marcos Alonso, who is the only left wing back at the Club.
